Japan's 2010 FIFA Tournament: Retired
Japan's 2010 FIFA tournament comes to an end today, being defeated by Paraguay during a Penalty Kick face off. This was the first FIFA match to go into the Penalty Kick round after a long 120 min game. Both teams were defending pretty well and there were several opportunities from both teams. But like all tournaments, there has to be one winner and today it was Paraguay's win. The final score was 1-0 Paraguay, with the Penalty Kick score of 4-5. Japan's defender, Yuichi Komano, miss on the penalty kick round costs Japan's placement in the final 8. Although the match ended with Paraguay's win, Japan fought hard and has made a change in history for Japanese soccer.
