Visiting An Old Project Space

SFU Students learning in Seattle Field Study 2008

Seattle Olympic Sculpture Park

So keeping this post short, I just returned from Seattle last night mentoring the IAT233 students for their yearly Seattle Project. This year was another success for the project. They covered interesting spaces and gave outstanding ideas by backing their research with ethnography studies, considering the geography and architecture and such. I was able to meet a bunch of new people along the way both mentors and students, which I found the most enjoyable part of this whole Seattle field study. Had a nice dinner with the mentors and had a chance to explore the new Olympic Sculpture Park that was just made in Seattle in 2008.

Seattle Olympic Sculpture Park - Art Pieces

Had a chance to go down to Petter Miller Book store to grab a copy of:  101 Things I Learned in Architecture School - by Matthew Frederick and When Space Meets Art/When Art Meets Space - by Viction:ary. Both books that I found interesting, especially ones with Yoshioka Tokujin in them. I am hoping that some time in my life I would be able to meet him in person and be able to attend to one of his projects during the Salone del Mobile in Milan. For now, enjoy these images from Seattle and hope you will go visit these places on your free time.
