Banpresto DX Marine: Admiral Akainu

Here's another review of Banpresto DX Marine: Admiral Akainu (大将赤犬 Taishou Akainu). The figure is around 15cm tall, similar to Kizaru from the previous review. The figure comes with a standing base and his Marine Admiral coat, same as Kizaru's but the cuff colors are different. They made Akainu's facial expression spot on and the details on this figure is just awesome. Here is a small photo gallery of the figure itself. Enjoy!

Finally got my hands on Banpresto's Super DX Ace. Found him at the local figure store and he was being sold for 70$, compared to buying him online for $120+ I just spent it there instead. Very satisfied of how the figures made, but I do wish that the paint job on him was a little better in certain areas. None the less, here are some photo's. Enjoy.

G.E.M Rurouni Kenshin Series by MegaHouse

MegaHouse has released their first G.E.M Series of Rurouni Kenshin. There are two versions of the pre-orders: Himura Kenshin (with his red outfit) & Himura Kenshin II (Battousai version). Personally I like his regular red outfit, but I also like his Battousai outfit as well. I will have to think about whether to start on this series or not, but the sculpt of this figure is absolutely fantastic.

Figuarts: One Piece Time Skip Version

Was browsing around the web and I came across the time skip version of the Mugiwara crew from the One Piece figure conference that is held in Japan. These would be probably be coming out around the summer, but I assume the pre-orders for these will come out very shortly. They are by Figuarts, the same one's that did the three admirals and a few other guys. The quality of the figure are looking pretty good for these ones, but I will have to see what Banpresto has to offer against these ones.

Some recent releases out on the P.O.P (Portrait of Pirates) DX line are Vista of the Flower Swords & Marshall D. Teach, also known as Black Beard. The P.O.P NEO-DX Vista is out to be released around June 2011 and the P.O.P NEO-DX Marshall D. Teach is already out on the market but currently sold out on most online dealers. I am sure there will be more of Teach being released soon so I would not worry too much if you missed out on him this round.

Been searching on some websites on the Wonder Festival 2011 and found some new up coming releases for the P.O.P (Portraits of Pirates) line for One Piece. Here are two new reveals that will be coming out in 2011: The Dark King - Silver Rayleigh, Ace - Strong World ver. (finalized) & Boa Hancock wedding edition. Just as the title states, my P.O.P DX Monkey D. Garp has finally arrived and he is fantastic. Though the only disappointing thing about him is the color tone on his face. His neck skin tone and his face skin tone are completely different. It feels like the two pieces were given to two different people. But I would only display Garp with his Dog mask on so I have nothing to worry about. Here are some edited photo's of him. Enjoy!

Sorry about the delay in having these posts up! The last few days I have been waiting for the pre-orders for the P.O.P Shanks Strong World edition., which has been pretty crazy on all the online figure sites. Some site such as AmiAmi, HLJ, Otacute, etc has had some server issues to the point where they had to shut down the site for some time. Lucky I got my Strong World Shanks pre-ordered, so that's a relief. Here are some promo photo's of P.O.P DX Perona and Shanks Strong World edition. As of now, both Shanks and Persona are sold out EVERYWHERE, so if you so happen to see them up for pre-orders, I would suggest grabbing them asap!

P.O.P DX Boa Hancock

As promised here's a review of the P.O.P DX Boa Hancock from the Shichibukai series. The quality of the figure itself is excellent and they used a different soft pvc for the hair so it's a little softer. She also comes with an extra face and a changeable arm. As a bonus her clothes are removable so that you can see her scar on her back, but I decided not to showcase her without her clothes. But the only thing that I'm disappointed is that even with the removable clothes, the arms have the clothing on the so you can't pose the character with her back showing. Unless they make another version of Boa Hancock, I may consider buying one IF and only if she comes with more accessories and her pet snake as well. Most likely I'll pass on the offer, but you never know. Here are some photo's of Boa Hancock. Enjoy and drop by again.
