Portland Trip!!

Pioneer Square - Portland

Just recently went to Portland (Oregon) with my family and my sis's bf. Stayed there for 3 days at the Marriott Downtown Waterfront hotel. I must say that this city is a pretty sustainable city. The city has it's own dedicated bike path/route that allows them to travel every where in the city. The bridges themselves have a bike path for them as well as the busses. The transportation fares are cheap. Bus tickets can be bought at either 2$ for a limited time or 4$ for a all day/all zone pass. Metro tickets are sold as daily, weekly, or monthly passes - ranging from 2$ or 2.30$ for all day/all zone.

The seafood in Portland is pretty amazing especially for their price. We went to eat at Jake's Famous Crawfish Restaurant and it was fantastic!!! We had the seafood appetizer which was enough for 5 people and we each individually had our own seafood pasta dishes + dessert. After eating we went to Powell's Bookstore and spent most of my time in the design/architect section. I bought several books on creative cities/classes and sociology books in relation to city spaces. Other then that I wandered around the city and chilled at the Pioneer Square - where they had street entertainers and small markets. For those who haven't been to Portland, I highly recommend going. Not just because of the tax free shopping, but to explore the city as well. The people there are really nice and the city is just amazing.
