Figuarts ZERO: Animal Edition

Figuarts ZERO are starting to extend there new Animal series by adding in three new characters to this line. We have White Beard as Polar Bear, Ace as Panther, and Black Beard as Hippo. I would love to get myself a Ace Panther version, but seeing how much these guys go for I would spend my money on a few (2-3) Grand Line figures. From what I have seen on the web so far, these guys are pretty tall (probably close to a P.O.P height), but I may be wrong. If there is anyone that can confirm the height of these characters, that would be great! Enjoy!

P.O.P DX Strong World Ace

Finally got my hands on P.O.P DX Strong World Ace figure just this morning and thought I would do a quick review of him. I've been debating on getting him for quite a while now and I just so happen to find him on Mandarake for under 40$ so I thought I mine as well complete my Strong World Collection.

First impression of him out of the box: I love him!! Surprisingly he's not that bad, even though I have read a lot of comments about his face being wrong. Unlike his Marine Ford Ace, the facial sculpt is done better compared to his Strong World sculpt. But the sculpt, pose, and the accessories that comes with the figure are excellent. The details are really well made and the coloring is consistent. I love the fact that he has two fire accessories so I can display him with out the ridiculous guns, even though it's the "Strong World" theme. Ace still looks like a bad ass without giving him two huge guns, in my opinion. 

The one thing I am a bit worried about is his hat, since you need to bend the string of the hat for it to stay on him while his hat is hanging from the back of his neck. Other than that I would highly recommend those who are Ace fans, should definitely get the Strong World Ace figure and add that to their collection. Enjoy!

Figuarts ZERO: One Piece

Here are just some updates on some up coming Figuarts ZERO figures coming out as well as some neat Chibi Kyun Kara figures for Ichiban Kuji as well. We are finally seeing Kuma, Smoker, and Tashigi from the Figuarts series. Unfortunately they are not the New World series, but knowing Bandai, they will make a New World version of them very soon depending on their popularity. For Kyun Kara for Ichiban Kuji, we have Akagami Pirates as well as some White Beard Pirate crew members. From what I know White Beard is a A Prize figure while the others are B-E Prize figures.

Banpresto Grand Line Children Vol.2

Just a short post of Banpresto's Grand Line Children Vol.2 with Ace and Boa Hancock, being released very soon. I am probably getting Ace since I have the three trio of Luffy and Sabo already. Not too much of a fan of chibi Boa Hancock so I might pass on her. For those looking for the figures, Mandarke seems to be the site to turn to for these Banpresto figures. Enjoy!

It has been a while now since my last post, I apologize for the long delay. I have been busy with catching up with work along with a short trip to Japan I made in June and also graduating University as well. Beside my personal life story, lets see some new toy updates. First off here is a surprise from MegaHouse with their updated version of the P.O.P DX Portgas D. Ace version 1.5 (new). Here are some small photo's of the improved Ace from his latest 1.5 version update. The only changes that were mainly done were on the flames and possibly the coloring. They released this version of Ace based off of the 7-11 limited edition version of it and I guess they decide to make him more available to the Ace fans out there. Non the less, he is still currently available on Otacute for $100. For those interested and have not gotten a MegaHouse P.O.P DX Ace, you will not be disappointed in this upgrade here.

Here are a few up coming One Piece figures by Figuarts [Bandai]. For their Zero One Piece line they have: Portgas D Ace, Silver Rayleigh, and Eustass Captain Kid. All three of them look really well made and painted, but that's the promotion photo's so I am not 100% certain that the quality of these figures would be the same after the launch. I've heard a few people get disappointed in the quality control over Figuarts figures, but as far as what I am seeing now, I am impressed. I haven't updated for a really long time, but I will get on that as soon as I updated all my photos. My Internship at Crispin Porter + Bogusky has ended not too long ago and it was fantastic! I'm hoping I will return and continue working there. As for now here's an update on what's coming up for One Piece figures in 2011. Indeed a Strong World version of Shanks and Portgas D. Ace is coming out, and here's a fully colored version of them here. Surprisingly these aren't P.O.P's but they are Figuarts version, I am wondering if P.O.P versions of these guys since will be out soon since I know a lot of you out there collect P.O.P models instead because of their quality (I know I do). Last time we saw the prototypes for the Shank's Strong World P.O.P version not too long ago, so hopefully it will be soon!! I hope to be seeing these guys on pre-orders on AmiAmi Online store very very soon! Watch out for these guys!
